With the annual budget that the town receives from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, more and more Blue Mound homes are expected to be built in town. The city is located on Farm Road 156, eight miles north of Fort Worth. It was incorporated in 1960 and became a bedroom community in the 1980′s. Blue Mound got its name from a hill in the area. Despite its small size with a total land area of only 0.5 square miles, the town still proves to be one of the more progressive towns in Tarrant Country.
