In 2008, the population of Denton County was approximately 636,000 with a population density of just over 690 people per square mile.  With a median resident age of 31 years, estimated median household income was just over $73,000.  The cost of living index in the county is nearly 10% below the average for the United States. In 2009, the average value of a home in Denton County was almost $185,000.
