Once a old town merged with Barnes, Texas, real estate owners gathered in the late 1800′s and decided to rename the town to Fate. It was first town in Texas to establish a rural mail route. Remaining a rural town for many years has fostered a close relationship among its residents. Today, Fate is at the edge of the expanding development of the Dallas / Ft. Worth Metroplex.
The town has recently approved a development of over 5,000 new homes which will be among the largest residential development in Rockwall County. New boulevard style roads are planned and the town is destined to become more of an urban environment over the new few years. With convenient access to Interstate 30, Fate, TX homes are still rural but at the same time its residents enjoy easy access to employment, shopping, and entertainment offered by a large metro area such as Dallas.
