Committed to preserving its historic downtown and rich cultural roots, Grapevine still manages to evolve as a city. Its first settlers came in the late 1840’s and soon it became a home to the growing wine industry. When the Dallas / Fort Worth International Airport was constructed, further development of the city was initiated. Part of the airport is within the city’s limits which is an asset. It allows economic growth to occur as a result of shipping and transportation needs that would otherwise not be available.
Today, Grapevine still continues to uphold the beauty of yesterday despite the growth that has taken place. Residents love to explore the trails, parks and beach activities that can be found near Grapevine Lake. The Great Wolf Lodge with its indoor water park, the Gaylord Texan and Dallas Cowboys Golf Club are some great attractions which are all within a short drive. Due to the efforts that the city and its residents put forth to keep the city beautiful yet progressive, Grapevine has been recognized by CNNmoney.com as one of “America’s Best Places to Live”.
