People love to live and play in this excellent suburb of Wort Forth. The city takes its name from the Mans and Feild mill which supplied meal and flour to the Confederate Army during the Civil War. The combination of names and repeated misspellings led to the commonly adopted name of “Mansfield”. While its strategic location along U.S. Highway 287 is its primary asset, residents there prefer the quite living environment away from the large city lights of the Dallas / Fort Worth metro area.
With the over 500 acres of land dedicated to park development plus 50 acres set aside for an athletic field, any resident of Mansfield can enjoy the abundance of outdoor activities. Just last year, the city ranked 24th in Money Magazine’s “100 Best Places to Live”. Retaining the natural beauty of its historic downtown while continuing to welcome economic development has played a role in achieving such an award.
