Tracing its roots way back to the 1800’s, the city of River Oaks was first occupied by James Ventioner who lived there in a log cabin. The name River Oaks was derived from the city’s environment in the early days which was surrounded with beautiful oak trees. Settlers began to build houses in the area when they noticed the farmlands which eventually became their source of income. The city was finally incorporated in 1941.
Today, River Oaks is a thriving city in Tarrant County, near downtown Fort Worth, and is continually attracting new home owners. The excellent environment and scenic views invite home developers, business owners and new residents to invest in and benefit from the quite ambiance that the town exudes.
